Writing about the plot of an epic novel is an adventurous undertaking. There are epic chances of not fitting into the limited number of lines. Therefore, we will describe War and Peace as physicists, not lyricists. After all, physicists are laconic even when they talk about the Universe. So, Kutuzov and Napoleon are two magnetic poles. Let the individual lines of force in the space between them be the characters of the novel. There are 569 of them. This number includes all classes of society, all ages and characters; the author analyzes their gestures, facial expressions and even thoughts. And we will agree to consider the general magnetic field as a people, or, depending on its manifestation in the novel, a crowd. All this wonderful physics interacts and lives within the volume of one book, but always gives new details to the observer, as if he were peering closely at things and seeing atoms behind the molecules, and elementary particles behind them. And then I would fit what I saw into the overall picture of the world and would feel a strange magnetism - but not with instruments, but with my soul itself. A set of 4 books.
