"Heart of a Dog" is one of the most famous and memorable works by Mikhail Bulgakov. With inimitable sarcasm and humor, Bulgakov described the unprecedented risky experiment of Professor Preobrazhensky to turn a dog into a human, creating a magnificent parody of the paradoxical situation of Soviet Russia in the 1930s. The cruel experiment to breed a new "breed" of people shows that one cannot experiment with nature and change God's Providence to suit political goals with impunity.
