Ruslan and Ludmila

Pushkin's literary reputation was formed largely due to the popularity of his poems. Pushkin's first poem, Ruslan and Ludmila, made the author's name known to the entire reading public. Each of his new poems - The Prisoner of the Caucasus, The Fountain of Bakhchisarai, The Gypsies, Count Nulin, Poltava, The Little House in Kolomna - became the subject of heated debate and a reason for discussing pressing issues of Russian literature. The book includes all of Pushkin's completed poems included in the author's edition of Poems and Stories, as well as the poem The Bronze Horseman, which was not approved for publication by the "highest censorship."
