Green light

For the first time in Russian — one of the main book events of 2020, Green Light by the famous Matthew McConaughey (Oscar winner for the leading male role in the film Dallas Buyers Club, Rust Cohle in the series True Detective, Mickey Pearson in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen) — partly an illustrated autobiography, partly a life textbook. Having become a star of romantic comedies at the turn of the century, McConaughey decided to change his fate and realize himself as a serious dramatic actor. He talks about what this decision cost him — and other fateful decisions in his life: to go to Australia for a year after school, to change the law faculty for the film institute, to live on wheels for three years, traveling from one film set to another in a caravan in the company of a mongrel named Miss Hud, and most importantly — to earn his father's respect ...
