"Jamie Goldberg is a volunteer at the campaign headquarters of a local senatorial candidate. He loves his job, but tries to stay behind the scenes. Talking to strangers is a big challenge for him, and going door to door and campaigning for his candidate is a real nightmare. But then he meets Maya... Maya Riemann is having the worst summer of her life. Her best friend went to college, her trip to Italy fell through, her parents are getting divorced, and now, at her mother's insistence, she will have to campaign in the local elections together with some awkward guy.
