Elena Garro is a Mexican writer. Like Juan Rulfo, she is considered a "predecessor" of magical realism. Garro's novel is published in Russian for the first time. She is obsessed with love for the general, and the general is obsessed with Julia. Who will be able to come out of this love polygon alive? "Memories of the Future" is the origin of magical realism.
