Viktor Dragunsky (1913 – 1972) entered children's literature rather late, after forty years. His "Deniskiny rasskazy", of course, caused a storm of indignation of literary officials, and, of course, literally in one minute won the hearts of schoolchildren and their parents, as soon as the first book of the cycle "The Secret of the Baby Carriage" with illustrations by V. Chizhikov was published. Since then, Deniska Korablyov has become one of the most beloved heroes of young readers.
