Roadside Picnic

There are probably not many works in the history of modern world science fiction that have remained popular for such a long time. The story served as the basis for Tarkovsky's cult film "Stalker"; three decades later, an equally cult computer game with the same name appeared, as well as a whole series of stories and novels written using the world of "Picnic".
