Power of the elements

The book includes selected works by Joseph Brodsky. These are poetry collections "A Stop in the Desert", "The End of a Beautiful Era", "A Part of Speech", "New Stanzas to Augusta", "Urania", "Landscape with a Flood", published by the American publishing house "Ardis" from 1970 to 1996 and compiled by the poet in collaboration with his friends Karl and Ellendea Proffer, the founders of the famous publishing house. It also includes Brodsky's poems for children and his most famous essays - literary, philosophical, autobiographical (some of them were written by Brodsky in English, and some in Russian). These two elements of the author - poetry and essays - present him as the greatest thinker of the 20th century, belonging not only to Russian, but to the entire world culture.
