Little orphan Molly Moon is found in a cardboard box labeled "Chocolate Marshmallows, Moon's Factory." She lives in the Hardwick Orphanage, where Miss Gadkins rules - a monstrous person who makes the girl clean toilets with a toothbrush. But one day, Molly finds a mysterious old book on hypnotism, and her life changes overnight. Molly discovers an amazing ability - to make people do whatever she wants. When her best friend is adopted, Molly uses her powers to escape from the orphanage after him. But a sinister stranger stands in Molly's way.
